The cross river state police have discovered a baby factory at obot Udonna Village in Akampka Local Government Area of the state. The owner of the factory force pregnant women to have babies which is later sold for 500,000 naira.
the police raided the factory at the early hours of Wednesday 14th, 2020, and rescued some pregnant women and children.
The cross river state commissioner of police Abdulkadir Jimoh said “they got information about the illegal practice and quickly acted on it and arrested the owner of the baby factory who is one Mrs. Imaobong Asuquo.
the commissioner further stated that the suspect Mrs. Imaobong Asuquo was operating the factory in her home and when the ladies gave birth, she sells the child to one Iquo who is also a suspect.
